Drawing the Human Figure Inside Out

Today was D.E.A.D. (drop everything and draw) day again, and we were to draw human figure, displaying the proportions of the body. We were not to draw the details, but to draw the figure quickly and make sure the proportions were correctly balanced. I think my figures was okay, of course it not perfect, I think I have some trouble making the head proportional to the body. Maybe a bit more practice would help.

  1. you are right. drawing from observation like this takes lots of practice, but you are a natural ben. you stay in the moment and trust your eyes. you don't allow the story your brain tells you about what you see to take over. this is great and will make future drawings easier and more successful. you have a natural sense for the materials too, laying in the first shapes lightly so as to leave room to add more information as you see it. the drawings are strong and your energy about them is inspiring to your classmates and to me!
